Probabilistic Approach to Tank Design in Rainwater Harvesting Systems

چکیده

Storage tanks from rainwater harvesting systems (RWHs) are designed to provide flow equalization between rainfall and water demand. The minimum storage capacity required take into account the maximum variations of stored volumes, i.e., active storage, depends basically on magnitude variability profiles size Given random nature variables involved in hydrological process, probability theory is a suitable technique for estimation. This research proposes probabilistic approach determine an analytical expression cumulative distribution function (CDF) as moments, demand mean number consecutive storm events deficit sub-period. equation can be used by developers decide at desired non-exceedance under preset model validated through continuous simulation tank behavior using time series Milan (Northern Italy).
